What does the science say about essential oils?
The therapeutic power of essential oils is well recognized by health professionals (source: PubMed).
Their anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties have been proven by laboratory studies. Essential oils can help us boost our immunity in healthy and natural ways*.
Find here the clinical aromatherapy key points according to NCBI**
- Aromatherapy is an alternative medicine or integrative therapy that works with conventional medicine treatment.
- The Food and Drug Administration of the United States guidelines classify essential oils as cosmetics because they are not drugs for treating or prevention of disease.
- Essential oils come from seeds, stems, leaves, needles, petals, flowers, rinds and fruits, woods and resins, roots and rhizomes, and grasses.
- Clinical aromatherapy can be beneficial for symptom management for pain, nausea, vomiting, preoperative anxiety, critical care, well-being, anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, respiratory, dementia, and oncology.
Essential oils have been known and actively used since Ancient Egypt, almost 5,000 years ago. However, choosing them, dosing them and combining them can be complicated (and even risky!). This is the main reason why they have not been used to their full potential as one of the most active substances by the global population

We selected the best essential oils for you
Each cartridge contains 8 essential oils that have been carefully selected and vetted by our Experts Committee and supplied by the PhytoFrance laboratory based near Montpellier in South France.
All our oils are pure, organic and chemotyped, a guarantee of quality that ensures that they contain the right substances recognized for their effectiveness in managing a wide spectrum of concerns and at the same time, being respectful of nature and the land they grow in.
Each oil selected allows for many different combinations resulting in specific effects.
Because everyone's body has its own specific needs and requirements, and because self-care starts with the self, we created 50 different programs that combine 1 or more of the 8 essential oils contained in our cartridges to achieve your own goals in the most effective and eco/body friendly way.

3 Years of development
The robot required specific expertise in several varied fields of engineering (electronics, mechanics, microfluidics, etc.).
Despite everything, here are the 3 main principles that have guided us throughout our adventure:
Security
In order to ensure that the robot would be able to deliver precise mixtures (precision of 25 micrograms per drop), it was necessary to design sharp, reliable and configurable micro electromechanical mechanisms in order to be able to adapt to all the products present and future of SelfCare1®.
Likewise, in order to meet the most demanding international safety standards, the product uses materials and components which are, not only designed for maximum electrical and mechanical safety, but also sufficiently sound, to ensure to keep the purity of the products dispensed by the SelfCare1® are neither altered nor oxidized by the materials and components of the robot.
Traceability
The traceability of all the components of SelfCare1® was an essential strategy at the start of the project. Thus, from the upstream phases, we made sure that the oils chosen by our consulting doctors and pharmacists (more about our Experts Committee below) are as pure as possible by seeking oils for which chemotypes, certifications and traceability are ensured. We have also had toxicological studies carried out to validate user safety, even in the event of intensive use.
This search for traceability can also be seen by the user since a large part of the information on the oils contained in each cartridge is available, simply, from the SelfCare1® app. This is also why our cartridges are delivered, filled and sealed: in order to guarantee the user that he will get the best, at the best price and without compromising on quality.
Optimization
"Do more with less" is one of the credos that guided us throughout this adventure. The result is directly visible to the user: with just 8 essential oils, we have already created more than 50 daily wellness programs and routines. This research is an ongoing quest that is still ongoing at Family Self Care and results in continuing to improve existing programs while seeking new programs compatible with our selection of essential oils.
This optimization is also seen by the user in the longevity of our SelfCare1® cartridges which are designed to be able to be used for several months in a household.
We work with the best healthcare professionals
Our international scientific committee
Our committee of experts is made up of scientists, doctors, aromatherapists, and pharmacists who come from all over the world. These experts provide an invaluable point of view on the development of our project, but also on the selection of our oils.
In France, we chose to work with one of the best suppliers of essential oils, PhytoFrance, based near Montpellier in Southern France.
And in the US, our essential oils have been supplied by HBNO, a leader in organic essential oils based in Southern California.
We do everything to offer you an innovative, natural and sustainable solution to take care of yourself and your loved ones!
