After devoting more than 20 years of my career to the marketing and management of large companies specializing in consumer health products, such as Tambrands (Procter & Gamble), Walgreens Boots Alliance, Boehringer Ingelheim and Merck Consumer Health, I decided to create Family Self Care in 2018.
It's an idea that took a long time to take shape because there is both a personal and a professional story behind it.
On a personal level, I lost a few loved ones, all in the same year.
We all know the pain someone going through chemotherapy can endure, especially towards the end. They just wanted to be taken care of on a daily basis, but had responses that were medicinal only.
Things have changed since then, but as such, it is really important for me that we look at health also in its preventive aspect and not only in its purely curative aspect.
It's not when it's too late that you have to start thinking about it.
At the professional level, health has always seemed to me an important element and therefore I wanted to make my career in it. I also realized that everything was linked to daily well-being which is “feeling in good shape”. It is not necessarily accepted that we feel tired, that we have minor ailments.
Well-being is as much being well in your body as in your mind.
That is really a need that I saw all over the world for twenty years or so and there wasn't really an answer. Until now.
